Description

Pipeline Politics seeks to consider the potential socio-political and economic effects of a potential pipeline being authorised in Canada, to move oil from Alberta in the West of the country, to Canada’s major refineries on the East Coast. This game considers the many different parties at play, including energy companies, multiple indigenous groups, the Federal Government of Canada, and other members of Civil Society.

Gameplay

Pipeline Politics is a matrix game, a type of game commonly used by the military, government, and business as a tool. During the game players make structured arguments to advance their actors’ interests in competition or cooperation with other players.
