September 2024 – Connections UK

Evan d’Alessandro, Thomas Danger, and Baptiste Alloui-Cros were invited to talk at Connections UK 2024. Evan and Thomas led a workshop on the topic of microgames design, while Baptiste was part of a panel on experiences using AI in Wargaming. April 2024 – French Studies of Professional Wargaming

Thomas Danger and Baptiste Alloui-Cros represented SSG at the first edition of the French Studies of Professional Wargaming in Lyon. They both held a talk at the conference, Baptiste on the topic of AI & Wargaming, Thomas on MDO (Multi-Domain Operation) wargames.

April 2024 – King’s Wargaming Week

Sacha Nacouzi and Evan d’Alessandro were invited to discuss their experience in professional wargaming at King’s College London.
Baptiste Alloui-Cros also held a talk on the topic of the use of AI in analytical wargaming.

20 April 2023 – SSG Talk at Connections Online

SSG held a panel on the theme of redteaming in game design. Alex introduced the topic with his presentation “Building Around Red: Flipping the Equation” giving great insights on what is red, and how to design games around red.
Then Thomas talked about “All Red Games”. Through the example of Turf War Politics games, he explained how they can bring better analysis and realism into wargaming.
Natan followed with “The Past is a Foreign Country: Historical Red Teaming”. Natan discussed how to design a historical wargame taking into consideration the role of red.
The topic of artifical intelligence was brought by Baptiste and his talk “Red teaming with Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Pitfalls”, where he explained the opportunities and limitations of AI.
Finally, Evan concluded our talk with a discussion on “Seeing Red: Immersion for Better Red Teaming”. Immersion in wargaming is his topic for his PhD at King’s College London!
